Who publishes The Baguette Report, where the site is hosted, how the episodes are made and what data is processed when you visit.
Publisher
The Baguette Report is an independent satirical series, published in a personal capacity from France. For any question about the site or the episodes, write to contact@baguettereport.com.
The publisher, acting in a non-professional capacity, has chosen to remain anonymous as allowed by article 6-III-2 of the French law no. 2004-575 of June 21, 2004 on confidence in the digital economy: their identification details have been provided to the host named below.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, California 94107, United States.
The videos are published on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. The site embeds no tracker from these platforms. On an episode page, the YouTube player only loads if you click the cover, through youtube-nocookie.com (YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode): before that click, nothing comes from YouTube. What you do next in the player, or on one of the platforms, falls under its own terms.
Satire and caricature
The episodes are parody, pastiche and caricature, within the rules of the genre (article L. 122-5 of the French intellectual property code). The family members are fictional characters and what they say is not fact. The French stereotypes are fully assumed: the family is the joke.
The news each episode starts from is real and checked: every episode cites its dated sources. The satire targets the powerful, institutions and absurdities, never victims or private individuals.
A factual mistake, something about you? Write to contact@baguettereport.com: every request is read and, if justified, the episode or its page is corrected.
How it is made
The characters’ voices are synthetic voices. The visuals are created with software tools, then staged and animated by the studio.
Data and cookies
The site creates no account, sets no cookie and embeds no advertising or behavioral tracking. Only the YouTube player, if you start it, may store data under YouTube’s rules. The technical logs needed for the security and operation of the hosting may contain the IP address, browser and time of the request; they are processed by the host under its own privacy commitments.
Traffic is measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, the host’s tool, with no cookie and no identifier: we know how many pages are viewed, not who views them.
Messages sent to contact@baguettereport.com are only used to answer you. They are neither sold nor used to profile you. You can ask for their deletion at any time at the same address.
Intellectual property
The name The Baguette Report, its logos, the characters of Gérard, Monique, Chloé and Papy René, their drawings, the videos and the texts of the site are protected. Please do not reuse them without permission. Links, on the other hand, share them as much as you like.
